Dexcom Stelo

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) and Dexcom have teamed up to support our More Than a Script (MTS) eligible members with access to the Stelo over-the-counter (OTC) Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM).

Dexcom Stelo is an over-the-counter CGM indicated for adults without risk of hypoglycemia.

NCPDP Grant funded pharmacies will be reimbursed $29 for submission of the task and dispensing the Dexcom Stelo to MTS patients. NCPDP grant funding will cover the cost of the CGM. Please see additional information below.

The NCPDP Foundation grant funds 10 new, rural pharmacy locations in North Carolina and hosts student pharmacists to support implementation and sustainability.

Dexcom Stelo Task

The Dexcom Stelo Task for NCPDP Grant funded pharmacies varies from other tasks in the MTS program because it is available to complete on-demand whenever the Dexcom Stelo is dispensed for an MTS member.

Follow these instructions to complete the Dexcom Stelo Task for NCPDP Grant funded pharmacies for payment according to the details above.

Navigate to the appropriate patient record in the DocStation platform
Select the tasks tab.
Click the blue plus button in the top right corner.
Select on-demand task.
From the Task Type drop-down menu, select “Dexcom Stelo Task for NCPDP Grant funded pharmacies”
Click Add and Open Task.
Complete the required elements of the task, including:
1. check the attestation statements
2. (optional) add any relevant encounter notes
Click Finish
