Bulk Actions

Save time by managing multiple claims at once. Learn how to bulk duplicate, update, finalize, and cancel claims.

Written by Zoe Stevens

Managing claims one at a time can take time, especially when you need to make the same change across multiple claims.

Bulk actions let you work with multiple claims at once, helping you quickly duplicate, update, finalize, or cancel claims without having to open each claim individually.

This article explains how to select multiple claims and use each available bulk action.

Select the claims you want to update

First, filter your claims to find the claims you want to work with.

You have two ways to select claims:

  1. Select the check mark in the upper left corner to select all claims shown on the page.

  2. Select the check mark next to each individual claim you want to update.

Once you have selected your claims, click Edit in the upper left corner. From the dropdown menu, choose the bulk action you want to complete.

Duplicate claims

You can duplicate multiple claims at once.

After selecting the claims you want to duplicate, click Edit and select Duplicate.

Duplicating claims creates new claims in Draft status. You can review and make changes to the new claims before submitting them.

After the claims are duplicated, you can select View created claims after duplicating to see the new claims. You can also find the new claims by going to the patient's profile.

Update/edit claims

You can update multiple claims at once when the claims are in Draft status.

After selecting the claims you want to update, click Edit and make the changes you need.

You can update information such as:

  • Payer

  • Rendering Provider

  • Service Facility

  • Billing Provider

  • Ordering Provider

  • Referring Provider

  • Place of Service

  • CPT Code

  • Billed Amount

  • Other available claim details

Any changes you make will apply to all of the selected claims.

📌 Before making a bulk edit, make sure the changes apply to every claim you have selected. We recommend reviewing the claims after making your changes and before submitting them.

Finalize claims

You can finalize multiple claims at once. After selecting the claims you want to finalize, click Edit and select Finalize. You can add a note during the finalization process, or leave the note blank.

Claims can only be finalized when they are in one of these statuses:

  • Processing

  • Submitted

  • Denied

  • Paid

  • Rejected

When should you finalize a claim?

If you know that a claim in Processing or Submitted status did not reach the payer, or you know that you will not receive an updated status for the claim, you can finalize it.

If you are still waiting for the payer to adjudicate the claim, we do not recommend finalizing it until the remit has been received.

Cancel claims

You can cancel multiple claims at once. Select the claims you want to cancel, then click Edit and select Cancel.

Claims can only be canceled when they are in Draft or Invalid status.

If a claim is in any other status, you can finalize the claim instead.
