Under a State Plan Amendment effective January 1, 2018 pharmacists have been authorized to enroll as providers under North Carolina Medicaid under the provider specialty clinical pharmacists practitioners (CPP). Today, North Carolina pharmacists are authorized to bill for a wide range of services for the over 2.3M medicaid patients in the state.
Authorized services include the following:
Consultative Services (do not required CPA)
E&M
Diabetes self-management & Education (DSME)
Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM)Telehealth Services
Vaccine administration
Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM)
Immunizations
Prescriptive Authority Services (require CPA)
