The latest iteration of the Claims Page brings some exceptional functionality and efficiency to the process of reviewing, submitting, tracking and managing medical claims.

Read this article to learn more about the new claims table functionality, filtering and sorting data, performing actions in bulk on selected claims, and exporting claim data.

Table and Views

The Claims Table has been modified to enable greater high-level visibility, flexible views, and bulk actions.

Click the settings cog on the far right to change the table to suit your needs.

  1. Layout: Wrap lines allows you to view the full details of each column. When "Wrap lines" is not selected, the information in each column will be truncated to allow a cleaner view of all columns in your browser window.

  2. Visible Columns: Select and deselect columns based on what data is most important to you. The table columns will adjust to fit in your browser window.

Columns and Sort

Column data gives a high-level view of claim details without reviewing each claim individually. At a glance, review Expected vs. Paid amounts, claim status and reasons, procedures and payers billed, and more.

Sort the claims by column by clicking the column title. First click sorts ascending, second click sorts descending, and third click removes the sort.

Filters

Search claims by multiple criteria, including status, location, insurance (payer), or even a specific claim number.

Filters are also now included in the URL, so once you've got the desired filters in place, you can favorite that URL to return to it the next time you want to review the same filtered list.

Bulk Actions

Select multiple claims to perform the same action across all of them in bulk. Up to 25 claims can be selected at once.

  1. Check for status update: this function allows you to check the status of claims that have been processing for an extended time.

    1. Note: updating claim lifecycle statuses beyond "processing" requires electronic remittance advice (ERA) enrollment to be complete prior to submission. Check in with DocStation Support for more information.

  2. Cancel: this function will move selected claims out of workflow permanently. Use "cancel" when you do not intend to submit a claim.

  3. Submit: this function will submit selected claims to the insurance (payer) set on the claim. An attestation option will appear, and once selected, clean claims will be sent to the clearinghouse for submission to the payer.

    1. Note: bulk submitting claims is only possible for clean claims (when all appropriate claim fields are complete and validated). If a selected claim is not clean, an error will appear and the bulk submission process will stop.

Export Claims

Select the download button in the top right corner of the Claims page to export a csv file containing the claims in the current table view.
